Choosing current transformers for the DJ-A96T
Do I need separate CTs?
The DJ-A96T uses X/5 current-transformer inputs, meaning CTs with a 5 A secondary. The listed package contains the ammeter only, so order suitable CTs separately. If you want a meter without external CTs, choose a model specifically rated for direct connection to your circuit.
Which CT ratio should I choose?
The listed CT ratio range is 5/5 to 5000/5, with the primary setting programmable up to 5000 A. Match the CTâs primary rating to your circuitâs design current and expected operating load, then configure the ammeter to match. Check the available settings in the manual, along with the CTâs burden rating, conductor opening and installation requirements.

Split-core or solid-core?
Split-core CTs open around a conductor, which can simplify retrofit installation. Solid-core CTs require the conductor to pass through a closed opening. The
What accuracy do I need?
The DJ-A96T has a listed measurement precision of 2%. Choose CTs with the complete measurement chain in mind, including operating current, leads and connected burden. Adding a Class 0.5s CT does not make the complete system Class 0.5s. This is a current-measuring instrument, not an energy or billing meter.
Will it suit my supply and panel?
The DJ-A96T is a three-phase panel ammeter with a 91 Ă 91 mm panel cutout and a listed auxiliary supply of 140â270 V AC, 50/60 Hz. Confirm the supply arrangement, CT quantity and connections against the manufacturerâs wiring diagram before ordering.
